Have you ever met someone and only later realized they were the one your heart had been waiting for all along?
For Chris and Mason, that discovery began with a simple message on Tinder on December 8, 2020 — a spark neither expected but one that felt quietly inevitable. Their first date, on January 5, 2021, at Pappadeaux on Oak Lawn, unfolded like a perfect scene: laughter, conversation, and a sense that neither wanted the night to end. So it didn’t — they wandered to Tap House, a now-closed little corner of the city that will forever be part of their story. Soon, late-night FaceTime calls became a ritual, each one drawing them closer across the miles.
By January 31, 2021, Mason was done with waiting. He skipped the small talk and asked Chris to be his one and only. Chris said yes, and their life together quietly began.
On their first road trip together, a secret surfaced: Mason had actually reached out first on another app years earlier, though Chris had ignored the message. Chris laughed and admitted, “Honestly… it was the star earrings you wore that turned me off at first.” And yet, here they were — two hearts in the right place at the right time, finally meeting exactly when they were meant to.
They moved in together, bought their first home, and on December 13, 2025, Mason asked Chris to marry him. Chris said yes. Today, their love continues to grow through laughter, quiet moments, and perfectly timed adventures — a story still unfolding, full of courage, joy, and maybe just a few questionable earrings.
The Venue
Ceremony and reception are both held on site, with free parking available. Aubrey sits about 45 minutes north of Dallas, so allow extra time for evening traffic.

Driving, parking and rideshare
Rideshare does serve Aubrey, but wait times run longer than in the city. If you plan to ride home at the end of the night, schedule your return trip in advance.
Your presence is the gift. For anyone who would like to give something more, Mason and Chris have registered here.

A few favorite moments from the last seven years.
The questions guests ask most. If yours is not here, email hello@rubanbleuevents.com.
Semi-Formal to Formal. Think elegant evening — the kind of outfit you would wear to a nice dinner or a gala. Black tie is welcome but not expected. The couple’s colors are black, ivory and gold, so lean into them if you would like.
One practical note: this is a December evening in North Texas, and the walk from the car can be cold. A wrap or overcoat is a good idea.
Brighton Abbey seats a set number of guests, so Mason and Chris have reserved every seat by name.
Your invitation lists everyone we have saved a seat for. Spouses, fiancés and long-term partners have been invited by name and will appear on your invitation and in your RSVP. If an additional guest is not listed, we are not able to accommodate one — not for lack of wanting to, but because the room is full.
If you are unsure who is included in your invitation, email hello@rubanbleuevents.com and we will happily confirm.
We adore your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives you an evening off to relax and enjoy yourselves.
If you are traveling in and need a recommendation for childcare, let us know and we will help you find something.
Doors open at 4:15 PM. Please plan to be seated by 4:30 PM.
The doors close at 4:45 PM and the ceremony begins at 5:00 PM. If you arrive after the doors close, a coordinator will seat you at the first natural pause so the ceremony is not interrupted.
Brighton Abbey is at 1720 Dr. Sanders Road, Aubrey, Texas 76227, roughly 45 minutes north of Dallas and 50 minutes from DFW Airport. Parking is free and on site.
Uber and Lyft do serve the Aubrey area, though wait times run longer than they do in the city, especially late at night. If you plan to ride home, schedule your return trip ahead of time rather than requesting one at the end of the evening.
See Travel & Stay for hotel room blocks.
Room blocks have been reserved for wedding guests at group rates. Details and booking links are in the Travel & Stay section. Please book before the cut-off date — rooms released after that are charged at the standard rate.
Yes — Mason and Chris are registered at Crate & Barrel and have a Honeyfund for the honeymoon. Both are linked in the Registry section.
Your presence is genuinely the gift. Anything else is a bonus.
Dinner is a served buffet catered by Chef Destini, followed by cake and dancing.
Please tell us about any food allergies or dietary restrictions when you RSVP so the kitchen can plan for you.
There is. A glam photo booth opens during the reception, along with a magazine-cover photo op — step in, strike a pose, and walk away on the front of your own cover.
Both stay open until the 11:00 PM exit, so there is no rush to get to them early.
Please put phones away for the ceremony itself and simply be present — the couple have hired a photographer and videographer to capture it.
Once the reception begins, photograph everything. There will be a photo booth, and the couple would love to see what you capture.
Email hello@rubanbleuevents.com and the planning team at Ruban Bleu Weddings & Events will help. Please reach out to them rather than the couple in the final weeks — they will have plenty on.
